California Fuchsia

California Fuchsia (Zauschneria californica), 1-3 ft., red/orange flowers summer through fall, native, drought tolerant and deer resistant, likes full sun, attracts hummingbirds.

Upright or arching growth from 6 in. to 4 ft. tall (depending on variety) spreading as wide as 3-4 ft.  Narrow, 1 1/2 -in.-long leaves in green, gray-green, or gray. In late summer or fall, they put on a profuse show of bright orange or scarlet (sometimes white or pink), narrowly trumpet-shaped flowers that attract hummingbirds.
