I had never seen this flower before yesterday. I love it, its so delicate – is it hard to grow?

No, it is not particularly hard to grow. It requires shade and rich soil, and plenty of moisture. It is winter deciduous and frost sensitive, but if there is no freeze it will come back in the spring. It is so lovely, especially in a woodland type garden.

That is the oldfashioned bleeding heart. Depending, it may disapper for half the summer and then be there next year. They also come in white.

There are also some others which look slightly different and are fun to have.
