Lily-of-the-Nile (Agapanthus), very easy, blue or white flowers in summer, 2-4 ft., great cut flower, sun or part shade, drought tolerant, excellent cut flower.

A small group of long-lived clumping perennial plants including 10 species native to South Africa. Evergreen in the Bay Area, these plants produce large clusters of bright blue flowers on long stalks in summer. Lily-of-the-Nile has become one of the most popular perennial plants in California gardens since its introduction around 1853. It is widely used in borders, mass ground cover plantings, perennial gardens, and even median strips. Very easy to grow.
